And The Next Adventure Is…

Jesse and I have been traveling for almost four years now. I have worked in nine different labs and we have lived in 8 different states, CA was so great we had to do it twice. It has been an amazing journey, one that seemed so crazy when we started. We have done so many things right and have had few hiccups. That time we got to our South Dakota house and we had no furniture, or that time we got to Santa Maria and we had no place to live, those were some hiccups. The pictures we have taken, the food we have eaten, the beer and wine that we have enjoyed and the friends we have made along the way have really made this an incredible experience. Much to Jesse’s joy we have not experienced winter since we lived in Oneonta. It has been great to live in CA for a winter, FL for a winter and then CA for another winter. Moving around the country, going coast to coast and back again has been more than we ever imagined.

But even great things have a few drawbacks. You take some things for granted when you live in one place for no more than three to six months. Like sleeping in a bed that someone else has not, or having a couch you picked out, having a doctor, dentist, and hairdresser. You would not believe some of the hideous lamps we have had in some of the places we lived. Jesse and I also find that we miss having friends and having regular places to go eat.

After lots of talking and deliberating we have decided to do another crazy thing. We are going to move to the Salt Lake City/Park City Utah area!!! When we stopped there to stay with the amazing Best family as we were driving from one assignment to the next, I never wanted to leave. The natural beauty and the amount of outdoor activities just cannot be beat. I have applied and interviewed for a job and we have started looking at apartments. We are going to live like regular people! I am excited about weird stuff like shopping for furniture and being able to plan out my life for a year. There are races to run, and run clubs to join, and gyms to work at like Orange Theory. Jesse can get a job doing what he has always wanted to do instead of working at places like video stores and grocery stores.

This is a new adventure and there is so much to do we won’t get bored. I want to buy some camping gear so we can enjoy Bryce Canyon, Zion, and Moab. Also being close to friends will be so awesome. I know we love traveling but this is a chance to learn something new and do so much more. We are so excited.
